Galactic Heroes: Mission To Earth

Calling humans of St James Street, big and small, to create an alien population to save the Earth.

Dec 12 – Jan 23
1B Window Gallery
Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow, London

Your growing troop of alien creatures will be added to the 1B Window Gallery for 6 weeks from Saturday 12 December until the Earth is saved with fun and hope!

Three experienced mixed-media East London creatives will guide you in virtual making workshops, inventing creatures to bring your alien ideas to life as shadow puppets with as much theatricalness as Covid will allow. Working with light and shadow, 1B will be a Winter shop window display with a difference.

Bring a torch to create unique shadows from different angles and enjoy watching the story unfold with the community’s creations.

Working together for the first time, a threesome of creative ladies from east London have banded together, for a quick-off-the-mark holidays installation project.

Del Taylor is a master storyteller and designer working with Polka Theatre and National Theatre & runs extensive community focused workshops in Walthamstow and beyond.

Katja Rosenberg, better known as Art Catcher, is a global large-scale group show curator and two years ago took over several shops fronts near Hannover, Germany for a theatre show during Advent as well as running regularly famous E17 Art Trail events.

Farah Ishaq is a locally grown artist who career changed 5 years ago and is responsible for the mural under St James Street Bridge and the Windows next to Lidls on Walthamstow High Street, now working as an artist after finishing an MA Fine Art at UEL.
