What I see, what it sees considers the creation of artificial intelligence computer vision systems and violence recognition surveillance. By delegating our judgement to a computer within the algorithmic frameworks we have built, are we really training computers to recognise a highly complex behaviour like violence? The work stems from the training datasets used in the software’s development and its specific portrayal of violence illustrated in the visual or numerical structure of digital images.

About The Artist

LOUISE WARD MORRIS

Louise Ward Morris is a London-based artist who works in film, photography and sculpture. Drawn from her observations and experiences, her work studies the ever-intensifying connection between people and technology. She is currently focused on how communication technology is altering the accessibility and structure of our memories, representing them back to us in an augmented, synthesised way through the apparatus we use. She is completing an MA in fine art at Central Saint Martins.
